A giant desert insect, a Chinese praying mantis and a squishy lime swallowtail caterpillar up to 120 times larger than life will be on display at the Arizona Science Center as part of “The World of Giant Insects” exhibition. The show comes from Kokoro Exhibits in L.A., known for its animatronic dinosaurs and giant creepy crawlies in realistic environments. The show was designed with entomologists for scientific accuracy.

Details: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily through Monday, Sept. 5. 600 E. Washington St., Phoenix. $24; $19 for ages 3-17; free for age 2 or younger; $4 for members. 602-716-2000, azscience.org.
